Basic Whole Wheat Couscous (Stage 7)

Couscous is actually a tiny pasta made from coarsely ground and steamed wheat, and can be used as a base grain for beans and stews or a salad by adding fresh vegetables and dressing. Serves:  6

INGREDIENTS:
  • - 1 cup water
  • - Pinch of sea salt
  • - 1 cup whole wheat couscous

Bring water and salt to a boil. Add couscous. Cover pan and remove from heat. Let stand 5-10 minutes. Fluff grain with a fork before serving. If desired, stir in a few drops of oil to keep the couscous from clumping.
