Basic Cooked Brown Rice (Stage 7)
INGREDIENTS:
  • - 2 ¼ cups water
  • - 1 cup long or short-grain brown rice
  • - 1 tsp. salt

In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil.  Add rice and salt and cover pan tightly.  Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.  Check a rice grain after 30 minutes to see if it is tender and water has been absorbed.
