I grew up doing gymnastics. I always had a love-hate relationship with the sport. Gymnastics is unique because you were never done learning. Just when you mastered a new skill after years of tedious work and countless falls, there was always a newer, scarier trick that you had to learn. The word “mental toughness” was a common phrase my Dad would use at home when giving me pep talks.
