Is 20/20 Lifestyles for the Whole Family?

At Pro Sports Club's 20/20 Lifestyles program we have many clients enrolled who have a house full of other people besides them. Often these clients have questions about how to make our program work for their whole family. The last thing busy parents need is preparing different foods for themselves and their kids!  No client needs to be making mac and cheese for the kids and a salad for themselves; the temptation is so great to fall back into old habits! Thankfully 20/20 Lifestyles is designed to help you make the healthiest choices already! This means that with a few additions 20/20 meal plans are safe for everyone in the family! Some populations like pregnant women and children need a little bit more nutrition from specific food groups. See the menus below  and the photo for a 20/20 meal that can be adapted for the whole family.

Example:

20/20 Client Dinner Menu

  • 4-6oz grilled chicken breast
  • 1/8 avocado
  • 1.5 cups of steamed broccoli
  • 1/2 cup of berries or other fruit 

20/20 Dinner Modified for Kids 

  • 1.5-2 oz grilled chicken breast
  • 1/8 avocado
  • .5 cup of steamed broccoli
  • 1/2 cup berries or other fruit
  • 1/2 cup whole grains
  • 4-8oz low fat or non-fat milk

Growing children need plenty of whole grain foods and dairy products to make sure their growth and development stay on track! It’s okay to limit sugar for your kids when you begin making lifestyle changes. In fact, it’s good for them to have limited access to sweets. Remember that children will have different levels of hunger depending upon their current rate of growth. Thankfully their little bodies usually know how much they need! Allowing children to choose healthy foods when they feel hungry and stop eating when they are full will help them to develop a healthy relationship with food.
