More Great Tasting "Green" Shakes

Adding veggies to your protein shake can seem scary. If you are worried that you aren't eating enough veggies, and struggling to get them into your lunch or dinner meal, your breakfast or snack shake may be the answer.

Here are a few ways to incorporate some great veggie nutrition, without greatly compromising the taste of your protein shake:

 

1. Cucumber Razz (Stage 4)

Ingredients:

Directions: Add all ingredients to blender until smooth. Enjoy!

Nutritional Information: 256 calories, 0g fat, 262mg sodium, 40g carbohydrate, 8g fiber, 24g protein

 

2. Chocolate Shake to "Beet" (Stage 2)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c. sliced strawberries
  • 1 chocolate 20/20 High Protein Powder Shake packet
  • 1/2 c. sliced beets
  • 1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 c. ice
  • 1/2 c. water

Directions: Add all ingredients to blender until smooth. Enjoy!

Nutritional Information: 247 calories, 2g fat, 512mg sodium, 38g carbohydrate, 9g fiber, 25g protein

Note: you can reduce the sodium content by using fresh vs. canned beets

 

3. Orange Creamsicle (Stage 4)

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 c. mandarin orange slices (canned in water)
  • 1/4 banana
  • 1 vanilla 2020 High Protein Powder Shake packet
  • 1/2 c. sliced cucumber
  • 1/3. c. Greek yogurt
  • 2 drops Vanilla Creme flavor liquid stevia (or vanilla extract or other sweetener of choice, optional)
  • 1/3 c. ice
  • 1/3 c. water

Directions: Add all ingredients to blender until smooth. Enjoy!

Nutritional Information: 288 calories, 0g fat, 291mg sodium, 41g carbohydrate, 6g fiber, 31g protein
