I was had a fairly healthy childhood and danced regularly into my teen years. However, as I got older, those activities were replaced with the working and partying variety, and I found myself in a non-ideal situation.

The event that prompted me to take corrective action on my lifestyles was actually when I gave my husband the special athletic gift of participation in his favorite team’s fantasy baseball camp. He wanted to get fit and was eligible for the 20/20 program. I did not meet the requirements, but we did both want to support each other’s efforts in making a lifestyle change, so I enrolled in the 20/20/10 program.

Now, I have tried every fad diet and weight loss program that has come and gone, but never had success in sustaining any of the pounds lost. Obviously none of them had ever given me the tools to be successful after the program’s completion. The 20/20/10 approach was holistic- you learn about the most efficient ways to exercise, you address eating habits, and you become more educated about your body chemistry and emotional triggers.

I can tell you that I most certainly did not expect to drop three clothing sizes and reduce my body fat percentage by 9.1% in just three weeks! The complete integration of the fitness, nutrition, and behavior must have been the reason…it is the first program I have tried that addresses all of these components. I actually gained positive health benefits, found new activities to enjoy with my husband, and had a good time doing it.

 

I have learned to run, which I have always wanted to do. As a result, even our dog, Squeek, has lost 10 pounds!
